El comprar un equipo m\u00e1s grande de lo necesario es una enorme inversi\u00f3n in\u00fatil y el comprar un equipo m\u00e1s peque\u00f1o limita las capacidades de proceso y crea \u00abcuellos de botella\u00bb indeseables durante la operaci\u00f3n. Generalmente con los criterios de dise\u00f1o de las etapas de ingenier\u00eda, basados en pruebas a escala laboratorio, piloto y\/o industrial, el conocimiento ingenieril y la experiencia en plantas similares, el proveedor sugiere un equipo que satisfaga los requerimientos. Sin embargo siempre es necesario comprobar que el equipo sea el adecuado. PABLO SOTO LANDA<\/h5><p>Profesional del rubro minero-metal\u00fargico, con m\u00e1s de 35 a\u00f1os de trayectoria laboral que se enfocan a los sectores miner\u00eda, ingenier\u00eda, investigaci\u00f3n, administraci\u00f3n de contratos, ventas y docencia. Es Ingeniero Civil Metal\u00fargico de la Universidad de Concepci\u00f3n (Chile) y tiene un post-grado en la Universidad de Tohoku (Jap\u00f3n).<\/p><p>En su trayectoria laboral ha trabajado en diversas plantas concentradoras, tanto chilenas como extranjeras, entre las cuales se puede nombrar: Disputada de las Condes, Codelco Div. El Teniente, Candelaria, La Escondida, Codelco Div. Chuquicamata, Sishen (Sud\u00e1frica).<\/p><p>Ha trabajado tambi\u00e9n en centros de investigaci\u00f3n minero-metal\u00fargicos tales como CIMM e IM2.<\/p><p>Ha ocupado cargos desde ingeniero de procesos, administrador de contratos, gerente de ingenier\u00eda y hasta gerente de proyecto en varias empresas de ingenier\u00eda chilenas y for\u00e1neas, entre ellas: Minmetals, Fluor, Worley Parsons, JRI, DRA (Sud\u00e1frica).<\/p><p>Tiene experiencia en terreno en varias plantas concentradoras de Chile, Per\u00fa, Argentina, Estados Unidos, Canad\u00e1, Sud\u00e1frica, etc. como parte del equipo de profesionales de las empresas anteriormente citadas.<\/p><p>Fue jefe del \u00e1rea de ventas de reactivos qu\u00edmicos para la miner\u00eda en Hoechst.<\/p><p>Ha sido docente en varias universidades chilenas (U. de Concepci\u00f3n, U. Cat\u00f3lica sede Talcahuano, U. del Desarrollo) y en varios institutos de formaci\u00f3n t\u00e9cnica. En los inicios de su actividad laboral fue alumno ayudante en diversas c\u00e1tedras de matem\u00e1ticas, f\u00edsica y de ingenier\u00eda metal\u00fargica.<\/p><p>En los \u00faltimos 10 a\u00f1os ha sido invitado a Per\u00fa para dictar cursos tales como: Optimizaci\u00f3n operacional, Puesta en marcha de plantas concentradoras, Fundamentos de la molienda y clasificaci\u00f3n de minerales,
